Getting Started

If you are interested in working together the first step is scheduling a free phone consultation. Our call is an opportunity for you to get a feel for who I am as a clinician and to ask any questions you may have. For me, I hope to get to know a little about you including a sense of what you're looking to work on in therapy.

Calls are up to 20 minutes long. Setting up a phone consultation does not commit you to working with me. It allows us to determine whether to schedule an intake appointment - which is not a choice you are expected to make during our call.

To schedule your phone consultation:

  • Click the Client Portal button below

  • Click “I’m a New Client”

  • Follow the prompts through. Upon selecting a date/time click “Request Appointment”

After submitting your appointment request you will receive a confirmation from me via email. I will call you on the date/time noted in your confirmation email at the number you provided.

Please note that I am unable to edit these initial forms and cannot include a space for your pronouns. Please feel encouraged to include your pronouns with your first or last name.

Hope to hear from you soon!

A Little More About Getting Started

Starting therapy can feel stressful. I hope this overview will give you an idea of what to expect and maybe make it at least a little less stressful.

Phone Consultation. As noted above, this is a chance to connect before making any choices about working together. If you decide to start therapy with me after your phone consultation we will schedule an intake appointment.

Before Your Intake. Before your appointment I will send you intake documents. These include information about your services and consent forms (for example, a consent to meet for telehealth services). This is all done digitally through the secure client portal.

Intake Appointments. Intake appointments are different than your regular therapy sessions. During your intake we will review documents that ensure you know your rights, what you are consenting to in working together, and take time to answer any questions you have before starting therapy. Building on your phone consultation, we will talk a little further about what brings you to therapy and what you would like to focus on or work towards.

Therapy Sessions. After your intake we shift to your typical therapy appointments. We will create sessions that include what feels supportive to you and adjust as needed as we move through your therapy process.
